open DITA Code Sprint

Following the DITA Europe conference in Prague, we are planning an open DITA code sprint. This event does not take the place of the Advanced DITA workshops that are part of the DITA Europe post-conference activity.

If you are a programmer interested in helping to improve open source tools for DITA, this event may interest you. Anybody is free to suggest topics but we'll most likely have at least a few people working on Drupal tools for DITA and on the Open Toolkit. If you want to participate, fill in the below form so we can plan a sufficiently big venue for the event.

The event will most likely take place at Hub Praga. If you would like to attend fill in the registration form for the DITA code sprint so we know what topics people would like to work on

The Open DITA Community provides:

  • A forum for developing new uses for DITA beyond the traditional technical publications role
  • A center of competency for designing and building community-sourced tools for these scenarios
  • A pool of guides and experts who are available for mentoring or consulting on anything from first encounters with DITA to custom DITA implementations
  • A lobby for defining future direction for DITA tools (both open and commercial) and for discerning new requirements for the OASIS DITA Technical Committee
  • A resource of knowledge for DITA users of all levels, from all industries.

Communication standards benefit from network effects: the more people use them the more useful they get. We invite you to participate in this open community and to help the DITA standard grow in exciting new directions!
